WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Southern Indiana 2011-2012 17.11.2011

The second day of a 2011-2012 World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Southern Indiana affair was over. There were 14 hours of tense struggle with 170 players at the start but when the clock stroke the end the field saw only 10 players to join the final table. Aaron Massey having 1.07 million in his stack will open Day 3 as a chip lead. After a period of bad luck he conquered the counts with a swift thrust. He managed it through some key pots which were some edge for him. But only on the last leg of the play Massey got the top by flopping a straight against Thang Nguyen.

Mark “Pegasus” Smith (877,00), Jacob Bazely (844,000), Thang Nguyen (119,000), Bernard Lee (664,000), and Donovan Darland (561,000) will accompany Massey at the final table.
This tournament stood out for its scale: the increased number of entrants (from 289 to 313 in comparison with the last year). The same touched upon the prize. The luckiest will snatch 107,022$. The bank was broken on Sunday. It was a real sprint: the players were illuminated with lightning speed so that there remained only 2 tables. Only after that the play slowed down. The remaining players did their best to join the final table.
During the whole day Mark “Pegasus” Smith was making it hot for the others upholding his leadership. He was so striking down that made a player at the table say: “Quit smashing that table Mark”.

That day Bernard Lee was always lucky, especially when his ace and king of diamonds held against Thang Nguyen’s ace and nine of spades. That hand facilitated Lee’s advancement which he held firmly till the end of the play.

After making back-to back final tables Kevin Calenzo, last year silver medalist, didn’t stay the course. He had to yield to Jacob Bazely, with his ace of clubs and ten of diamonds against Jacob’s pocket queens.
That day good luck didn’t smile upon such aces as Chad Batista, Miguel Borrero, Harold Dennis and Brian Yeager. They all fell short.
