Double success

Double success Portal Mazal

A weird and at the same time very interesting story that one can call “double success” took place in Auckland, New Zealand beginning of July. One man (who preferred to guard anonymity) really enjoyed all sorts of lotteries and contests; quite a few times he became the winner and got some prize money.

Once his friends shared that a lottery ticket with the prize pool of 1 million dollars was sold in a close-by supermarket “New World Victoria Park.” Our New Zealander immediately thought it was him who was the winner. Still, he was not in a hurry to check his lottery ticket purchased on April 29.

This is how the man commented on his action: “I have always known that success favours me, and as soon as I learned about this incredibly large prize money, I was certain it was me who was the winner. I decided not to double check my ticket simply because I wanted to prolong the dreams of running the life of a millionaire.

Time went by, and the winner did not show up. Our hero went to the supermarket on April 9 being one hundred percent certain of his success. The dream of running the life of a millionaire really became true after his supposition was confirmed by the lottery representative.

To get the prize it was enough to just present the ticket and the bank account to which the money could be transferred, but our lucky fellow decided to receive his million of dollars in a special atmosphere at the Lotto New Zealand ceremony. On the way home he decided to purchase a beer box to celebrate with friends and family.

“When approaching my car I can’t explain why, but I put the envelope with a lottery ticket on the roof of the car, and the beer box on the back seat. So I drove home. It was only at home when I remembered about the ticket” - here is how this happy New Zealander comments on what happened next.

He was in shock, but managed to call his friend and ask for help in finding the ticket. They returned to the parking lot, but the ticket was not anywhere there. The friends were desperate and decided to check  the road leading home from the supermarket. Imagine how happy they were when they found the craved envelope in a central part of a busy street. “I was extremely happy, when we found my ticket that cost one million dollars. Now I know for sure that Dame Fortuna loves me”.

When learning about what happened, the lottery organisers said he could still get his prize, but the process would take much longer and would require special investigation.

So, sometimes such incidents happen to the fortune’ favourites. What matters though is that they all have a happy end.
